Since its inception, we have been proud to serve military families at Together We Grow.  Over the years, we have continuously provided pediatric day health care for military dependents.  Prior to the opening of our Oceanside center, we had a classroom in San Onofre, on Camp Pendleton, for the medically fragile children on base.  True to our philosophy of inclusion, these children were integrated with the typical children from the surrounding classrooms of the base’s child care facility.  When we opened our Oceanside center, these children were moved there, as it was closer to the disabled military housing.  General James L. Jones, Commandant of The Marine Corps, was our guest of honor at the open house of our Oceanside center.  As the father of a special needs child himself, Together We Grow is close to General Jones’ heart.  He presented our staff with honorary Marine Corps coins, and we dedicated our Jungle Room to the Jones family.  Since then, we have had, on occasion, fully uniformed Marines come in to escort our girls to proms we hold on our medically fragile weekends, we attend all EFMP and Kids First meetings and maintain a relationship with San Diego’s military families and staff.  We are sensitive to the needs of military families, and as such, have several funding options available to military dependents at our center.  We are sensitive to the needs of military families, and we work with them to access the funding available through their respective branches.
